2006 Stargate Fan Award!

from Evolution Part 2, Episode 12, Season 7
“Damn, that hurts.

This series was a 2005 Stargate SG-1 Fan Awards Nominee in the category of Best Series in Gen Fiction.

The first story in this series was written immediately following the airing of Evolution Part I on the SciFi Channel on Friday, August 22, 2003.

Rating: R for violence and, well, you'll see.

  • A Hero's Return (The Unofficial Evolution, Part 2.5) - In which Daniel fights his way back from his nightmare in Nicaragua. Blessings to Kathy Wade for being my beta-reader. (March 2005)

  • The Unoffiical Evolution, Part 3 - In which Daniel faces one of the bleakest moments in his angst-riddled life. Can Jack keep Daniel from going Dark Side? (November 2003)
  • EP3 was nominated in the categories of Best Angst (Daniel) and Best Hurt and Comfort (Daniel) in the 2005 Stargate SG-1 Fan Awards.

  • The Unofficial Evolution, Part 4 - In which Daniel sees daylight at the end of a very long, dark tunnel. Is it coming from Jack's flashlight, or is it just an oncoming train? (December 2003)

THIS IS THE SILLY STUFF

from Heroes Part 2, Episode 18, Season 7

“But when will they be finished?

Coming Attractions:

  • 3000 BC - Living and loathing in Ancient Egypt
  • Don't Leave Home Without It - Daniel is captured by Ba'al's First Prime and made to endure incredible physical and emotional torture
  • Renascence - Between Full Circle and Fallen

Note: January 19, 2007

In Apriil of last year I began editing Don't Leave Home Without It but got waylaid by a ballistic appendix. I endured three hospitalizations, the first for 12 days, the second for additional surgery, and a third for three days because of the bite of a brown recluse spider. Thankfully, I am fully recovered. I hope to have these fics posted during 2007. Keep your fingers crossed.

In addition to the fics above that have been nominated for Stargate Fan Awards, two of my wallpapers have also been nominated, Hathor and Daniel Pondering. Happily, Daniel Pondering won a Blue Moon Award in 2006, as did my website.

Obligatory Disclaimer: The legal and grammatically correct bit: Stargate SG1, its characters, and all related entities are the property of Stargate SG-1 Productions (II), Inc.; MGM Worldwide Television Productions, Inc.; Double Secret Productions; Gekko Film Corp.; and Showtime Networks, Inc./The SciFi Channel. No copyright infringement of any kind is intended.

The quasi legal bit: Nonetheless, with the exception of certain references to Stargate SG-1 canon, the content of this story is solely attributable to the deepest, darkest recesses of my mind. If anyone claiming to be my friend sees him- or herself as one of the original characters in this story, then he or she has a much more vivid imagination than I, because 1) I have no friends; and 2) if I did, I certainly wouldn't put them in any piece of fiction I wrote, because a) nobody would believe that such people could possibly exist and b) if they were my friends, they'd know where I live. This story is intended solely for my own amusement because I have no life. The situations in which the Stargate SG-1 characters find themselves are probably pretty pathetic, and any possibility that they will extricate themselves in any way that actually makes sense is nothing short of miraculous because I have absolutely no idea what the hell I'm doing. Not one single dime – no, not even a nickel – has crossed my palm by way of profit by this endeavor. It is purely a labor of love or self-loathing or something. In fact, I'll probably lose my job because I spend more time writing fanfiction from 9-5 than doing what they pay me for. Fortunately, I'm very good at looking busy (since I'm not particularly good looking). And if I'm very lucky, one of The Powers That Be will see this and offer me a job as a screenwriter where, as we all know, the really big bucks are to be had.
